BPHSF is a new public charter school located in Old Historic Fresno. We are a School of Choice offering college and career preparatory programs for students entering middle or high school. At BPHSF, students are able to discover their goals and dreams through project based instruction, daily advisory classes, constant mentoring, student-parent-teacher partnerships, community service projects, and academic planning using the Big Picture Learning design.
The mission of Big Picture High School, Fresno (BPHSF) is to prepare "One Student at a Time" in life skills, college entrance and the 21st century workforce. This will be accomplished through relevant, real life active learning, academic rigor, and community involvement.
BPHSF is built around the recognition that each student has unique interests, needs, and abilities that the educational program must take into account. BPHSF believes that the key to achievement lies in fostering students' individual interests and encouraging their active participation in the learning process. BPHSF offers an educational concept that focuses on authentic learning in order to develop students ability to apply knowledge and skills to real life experiences and challenges.
